[Tutorial 4] Light
Bonjour, (no I won't do a tutorial in french don't worry guys.)
Congrats for those who are now on their second assignment ! I saw your pictures and something just popped in my eyes; a lot don't work well with the light. So here I am to explain to you how to work with it properly.
Here's an example of what you do:
You see, we don't see the sims very well and it's sad because he must be the center of our attention ! Let's see how we can improve those little details.
Some stuff you should know and eventually (or inevitably) work with:
#aWt HQ Modification: This "mod" will improve the quality of the game, your sims will look FANTASTIC. You don't even have to install this mod, it's an application so you double click on it an put the options you want. Don't forget to disable it before patching your game and enable it when it's patched.
Pose Player by Cmomomey: which let you pose your sims. (This sentence sound terrible for me but I don't know how I can say it in an other way...)
Granthes OMSP: Let you put your sims wherever you want.
Good light without a lampshade to spread the light around in a uniform way.
Cheat codes :
- Testingcheatsenabled true to make your sims feel good and disable the hunger and the other needs.
- Buydebug if you want to put your sims in front of a base or extension building.
- Kaching or Motherlode to have enough money to buy anything you need.
- Master Controller by Nraas to do almost everything you want.
- Moveobjects on : To put every objects in a studio.
Here's the steps to do good pictures :
1. Put a good resolution to your game with #aWt HQ Mod and with the Options of your game. If it's too tough for you PC put the sttings down a bit.
2. Create a studio, it doesn't need to be huge and complex, just a box like that works perfectly !
(Don't forget to put some paint on the walls ... I forgot to put some for that picture...)
3. Create a decor
4. Don't forget the Pose Player and the OMSP. The OMSP disappear when you go in Life Mode.
P.S. When you want to put you sims in the air with the OMSP click on Ctrl + Shift on your keyboard.
5. Once your sims is posing, work with the light. Usually I put 2 or 3, one will have the color "Flame" and the Intensity at High, the other one is White and intensity at High. These two will be at the extremity of the sims or one at the right and the other to the left to create an effect. Can you see where I'm going ? Your sims will look beautiful.
You can also put some colors to the light to create some effect but keep a light in the middle with the color White and the Intensity at High. You'll find at the end of this tutorial a list of the effects of the color.
6. When you want to take a picture click on Tab, you can change the camera settings with Q,W,E,A,S,D,Z,X
Here's the result (without the green lights.)
The symbolics of the colors :
Red : Passion, sensuality, warm, desire, danger, blood, war, destruction, angryness, violence, agressivity.
Brown : Earth, force, solidity.
Orange : Fire, Sun, light, warm, intimity.
Yellow : Power, wisdom, wealth (remember the color of gold), warm, energy, joy, power, sun, light, betrayal, jealousy, pride, liars, cheaters, illness, shyness, reborn of spring,
Green : soothing, excentric, instability, juggler and jesters wear green clothes, money, luck, fidelity, immaturity, demon, dragon, spirits, aliens, malefic creatures, poison, nature, heaven.
Blue : Immortality, truth, remember the dress of THE virgin (the mother of Jesus), heaven, divinity, fidelity, chastity, loyalty, justice, peace, calm, wisdom, liberty.
Purple : knowledge, religion, magic, serious, mourning, fear, melancholy.
Black : respect, wise, temperance, humility, austerity, chic, elegance, sadness, fear, evil, fisheries, events, death, nothingness, bereavement, abandonment.
Grey : misfortune, trouble, distress.
White : purity, innocence, cleanliness, virginity, vacuum, nobility, delicacy, transcendant (associated with the afterlife...), mourning.
So, remember to NEVER take pictures outside if you don't have a high game quality, always in a studio.

Here's a link, I don't know if it'll work because it's the .exe file and I can't find a .rar file so I guess it's just a .exe file... So here it is :
http://www.mediafire.com/?jhdpq84mgjjkc36
(just copy/paste the link)
Tell me if it works.

Re: [Tutorial 4] Light
I live in Germany and the message is in German, so I don't know if it helps but here it is: *click* when I open the 'mod' as an administrator it works correctly that means I don't get any error messages! But I don't see any changes in my game .. OH PS: The error means that I have no access 'to do this' ..

Re: [Tutorial 4] Light
Germany <3 .... Sorry my friend live there and I miss her a lot! xD
Yeah, you need to execute it as an administrator then you set the pixels to 520px on the right corner then you slide the slider anywhere you want it to go (personally I put it at the highest). Then go in the game and put your settings very high : Sims Details: very high ... And stuff like that. I suggest that you put Roundind the Edges very high, it add details to your sims.
Tell me if it works!

You can put them in "Your creations" in the Lounge section (just below Model's House)

Re: [Tutorial 4] Light
Simon I have a huge problem and I was wondering if you could help me =/ Ever since I installed Sims on my NEW computer, the clothes and skin of my Sims don't reflect light anymore.
Usually on my old computer I had a lot of lights around my Sim and it was reflecting it perfectly so their skin was really shiny and so on.
But this new computer really got me =/ No matter how many lights I add (and I have like EXACT the same light positions like on my old computer) they just don't reflect this goddamn light, they are kinda always standing in half-dark - do you have any advice of how I could fix that? =/
