[Tutorial 2] Categories of shot.
Hello models, today the lesson is about the categories of shot. I thought that for this tutorial I could introduce you Damian's husband...Anyway, yes there is type of shots and here they are.
Extreme/Very Wide Shot :
It's a shot where the emphasis is to place the subject in his environment. The difference between Extreme and Very are :
- Extreme is so far that you can't see the subject (Usually there's a long yard/field between the camera and the subject and the emphase is more on the place he is.)
- Very is closer than Extreme, you can see the subject just a little bit but the emphasis is still on the environment.
Example of a Very Wide Shot :
Wide Shot :
The emphasis is on the subject (in this case our model.), you see the subject from the feet to the top. (The top means his head you take a Wide Shot without the head of the subject.)
Example :
American Shot :
This type of shot shos the subject from the knees to the top.
Example :
Medium Shot :
In this case we need to take the picture from the waist to the top. Create an intimity with the camera, we can see the emotions of the subject.
Example :
Medium Close Up :
This shot consist in taking the subject from the chest to the top. (Do I really need to say to the top everytime, I think you've understand.) It have the same effect than the Medium Shot.
Example :
Close Up :
The close up are took from the shoulder. It allow us to see the emotions of the model.
Example :
Extreme Close Up :
This type of shot is about taking a part of the face of the model to show an emotion.
(I don't have example, when I try to zoom that much my sims disappear ... -__-')
Cut-In :
That type of shot is about taking a part of the body of the subject, such as the eye, the mouth, the hand that grab something, a feet that will walk on something ...
